Google My Business Profiles are a More Crucial Asset to Businesses Than Ever Before. Top Dentists Weigh in.

As businesses have started to open up again people are increasingly turning to Google Search and Maps for information regarding specific locations and opening times. Google My Business (GMB) profiles have been extremely relevant, and a powerful tool, for businesses to keep customers in the loop during a year of uncertainty. People have become more and more comfortable turning to the digital space to search for services, especially essential services like dentistry. Online visibility and reputation has never been more critical than it is today. We reached out to some of the top dental offices in California to comment on how their GMB profiles are important.

Dr. Fariborz Rodef – Los Angeles, CA – Dr. Rodef is the owner of Children’s Dental FunZone, a chain of pediatric dental offices located across Southern California. They pride themselves on providing children an experience that will decrease anxiety and ensure enjoyment when coming in for dental care. 

“Google has definitely been a positive way to market and get ourselves across,” says Dr. Rodef. He mentions how most people don’t leave reviews unless they have had an “extraordinary experience” or are requested to. “We get a lot of positive reviews. I actually kind of like bad reviews, because it gives feedback on how the practices are run and how we can improve.” Dr. Rodef recognizes the importance of top quality service, stating that “like in any other business, you have to provide good service for patients, you need to care about your patients and you need to treat them like your own family.”

Dr. Antigone Skoulas – San Francisco, CA – Dr. Skoulas runs her own general and cosmetic dentistry practice Antigone Skoulas, DDS and Associates. Dr. Skoulas values making quality dental care accessible to everyone while maintaining a high standard of comfort and efficiency. 

When asked how important online visibility is in regards to trust and reputation in the field she says; “I think it’s extremely important. Particularly in San Francisco with the newer generations, it’s not really a community-oriented city… so online marketing to new patients continuously is something I am definitely going to have to keep up with in order to grow.” Dr. Skoulas also mentions that “being on the google map is a major priority and it is extremely important to be visible on Google so people can find you.”

Dr. Joseph C. Styger – San Francisco, CA – Dr. Styger has over 20 years of experience as a general and cosmetic dentist with his own practice Joseph C. Styger, D.D.S, INC General & Cosmetic Dentistry

Dr. Styger points out that his prime location right off of Union Square in San Francisco is “usually a big plus” due to the busy nature of the downtown area and all the amenities, however at this point of time the shops are closed and the area is quiet. “Typically it’s a very positive place to work in the city, but this Covid crisis has really shut down everything around us so that’s been a negative” says Dr. Styger. This further illustrates the importance of online visibility at a time like this so clients can find your services remotely.  

It is clear that online visibility, especially GMB, has become more valuable to businesses than ever. Google is constantly adapting to evolving online user behaviour, allowing it to continue it’s prominence. Online interaction through GMB, including calls and clicks, have skyrocketed by the end of 2020 and will continue to be an essential component for businesses.
