Cyber Security Innovations (CSI) Awarded the IRS CSAM & Process Automation Support Contract

Innovative providers of cybersecurity solutions, Cyber Security Innovations (CSI), awarded the contract to provide CSAM Tool customization support and cybersecurity automation services to the IRS

The team at Cyber Security Innovations (CSI), led by Al Conteh, is undoubtedly pushing boundaries in cybersecurity as the company recently announced that it has secured the IRS CSAM & Process Automation Support Contract. The SBA-certified 8(a), minority-owned small business known for its expertise in designing, building, implementing, and maintaining cybersecurity solutions will be providing CSAM Tool customization support and cybersecurity automation services to the IRS under the contract.

The objective of this contract is to provide the IRS with expert technical support, ensuring FISMA-compliant security controls assessments in an automated fashion to meet related OMB, Treasury, and requirements. CSI will support IRS Cybersecurity’s efforts to continue furthering the automation of FISMA SCA processes based on NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5 and SP 800-37 Rev 2 as well as future releases. Specifically, CSI will provide IRS with the following:

  • CSAM Tool Customization, Configuration, Data Integration/Ingestion, and Preparation for the FISMA year (including NIST/Policy updates)
  • IRS process enhancements to achieve a greater percentage of automation through additional CSAM enhancements and integration with other IRS tools
  • Program Management CSAM Transition and Technical SME Support for Tool
  • CSAM Training All Stakeholders and Knowledge Transfer for Cyber EFC
  • Developing and maintaining CSAM documentation, i.e. SOP, guides, resources, etc.

The award of the contract and choice of CSI as the contractor is laudable, as the IRS moves towards more automated means of security posture reporting. Consequently, CSI will provide technical guidance and transition support to further align the SCA processes with Continuous Diagnostics & Mitigation (CDM) requirements from the Department of Homeland Security and Treasury.
